About Us

Our beloved Maya, a rescue Meerkat who stayed with us while she recovered before being released back into the wild, is the inspiration behind the name of Maya Manor.  Three separate self-catering holiday homes make up the Maya Manor Collection, all of which have a contemporary aesthetic. It is conveniently situated in the centre of Hoedspruit, where the Drakensberg Mountains and Kruger National Park meet. These modern flats are practical and comfortable, the perfect base for a family vacation or a romantic weekend in the Lowveld, where thrilling safari excursions and hot-air balloon rides are also readily available. Hoedspruit: A Sanctuary for Wildlife

The Afrikaans word Hoedspruit means "Hat Creek" in English. It is a little town in the Central Lowveld, sandwiched between the Kruger National Park and the Blyde River Canyon, with a focus on agriculture, tourism, and wildlife preservation. Hoedspruit is renowned for having wonderful biodiversity. Major game reserves including the Kruger National Park, Timbavati, and Kapama are close to Maya Manor. In these game reserves, animals including lions, cheetahs, elephants, rhinos, kudu, waterbuck, zebra, giraffe, warthog, and many others wander freely.

Agriculture in Hoedspruit

Hoedspruit is a significant agricultural producer in South Africa because of its extensive mango and citrus output. In Hoedspruit, which is located in the centre of the UNESCO-designated Kruger to Canyons Biosphere, a number of environmentally friendly community events are hosted, including the Hoedspruit Recycling Initiative and the "Local is Lekker" Farmer's Market.
